General Job Description

The Human Resources Intern will provide valuable support carrying out the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources Department. They will have the opportunity to cross all areas of HR, including but not limited to: benefits, recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, file maintenance, and more. This is an excellent opportunity to get real hands-on experience in a wide range of Human Resources activities. The individual will work closely with the members of the Human Resources Department and a variety of professional staff, to acquire valuable practical experience. This is a full-time, seasonal, non-exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Duties/Responsibilities
    Support onboarding activities such as creating personnel files and compiling orientation packages.
  • Conduct ad hoc research on Human Resources and compliance topics.
  • Assist with coordinating candidate travel and creating interview packages.
  • Assist with the coordination of training programs.
  • Assist with preparation for open enrollment and various support in the benefits program.
  • Provide general administrative support, including assisting with the maintenance of files, maintaining spreadsheets, and updated forms and departmental lists.
  • Assist with employee morale events and other corporate-sponsored activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be pursuing, or have recently completed, a degree in human resources, industrial and organizational psychology, business administration, or other related fields.

  • Motivated to expand skills and knowledge, as well as tackle new problems and take on new responsibilities.
